ND Football | Notre Dame OL Aaron Banks Has Foot Surgeryhttps://t.co/Pf87mLpJv4— Matt Freeman (@mattfreemanISD) June 26, 2019Notre Dame is coming off a 12-0 regular season that included their first-ever trip to the College Football Playoff. However, the Irish were overwhelmed by Clemson in the Cotton Bowl, losing the game 30-3.Notre Dame’s schedule won’t get any easier in 2019, with massive games against Michigan and Georgia highlighting the schedule and slated to be the team’s biggest obstacles.Hopefully the Irish will have Banks back for that game. He clearly has a big role with the team that may only get bigger. But he’s had a slight setback that could put his 2019 season at risk.According to Irish Sports Daily, Aaron Banks underwent surgery last week on a broken foot. Per the report, Banks is expected to recover in time for Notre Dame’s camp, but could be “eased back in” to the lineup.Coming out of high school in 2017, Banks was a four-star prospect ranked No. 166 in the country. He was the No. 17 offensive tackle in the country, and the No. 20 prospect from the state of California.Upon joining the Irish, however, Banks was converted to an offensive guard, and has thrived at the position. He’s projected to start at left guard when he recovers from this operation.
